Our working Border Collies are our main farm hands here at Pickwick Fields. We really couldn’t do what we do without their help. The American Border Collie Association is an excellent resource for information on working sheepdogs like ours.

Scout is my main trial dog now. A very nice boy to his sheep, cant always move the most stubborn of sheep, but he tries his heart out and that’s good enough for me.

Lads my second trial dog. A steady boy on and off the trial field, he’s my go to farm hand now that Kit is mostly retired.

Kit is now 90% retired from trialing and farm work. She does occasional demos still as she loves to show off still. Shes had some health issues- ( FCE in 2021 where she was paralyzed for a couple months, a severe bacterial infection in her eye that resulted in removal in 2025, and survived a copperhead bite to the leg earlier this year 2026) so she can now live the easy life as passenger princess to all the things.

Russell has been an interesting dog to train, had some bumps in the beginning but he’s turning into a decent farm dog. I haven’t trialed him as of yet, he has some anxiety that makes me think a higher pressure environment wouldn’t be the best for him. Maybe in time.
Roxy (2/3/15)
D. Parker’s Lucy x R. Rogers’s Blaze

A bit of a late bloomer, Roxy is training up very nicely. She really thinks when working stock and has wonderful pace. I’m very pleased with this little girl!

Knox doesn’t work sheep due to hip issues, but he’s a valued member of the family. Causes no amount of chaos like any good border collie.
